Too Many Bees

I don't know about you but we have so many bees and wasps this year. The other day I sprayed 5 wasp nests around our yard alone. Yuck! Anyway, Kira and Kate went to a birthday party at the park and guess what...Kate got stung by a bee on her lip. Yep, that's right, she was drinking some red soda that the bee wanted too and so it went into her cup and stung her right on the lip. They even had to pull the stinger out because it was stuck in her lip, but she was a good little patient and didn't hardly cry at all. Here is her lip all puffy. It was about 3 times the normal size before the swelling finally went down. That bee/wasp is one insect that I could do without.

Like Father, Like Daughter

As you may, or may not know, Dave loves to come home from work and then read his sports magazine while he is on the potty:) Yesterday I came looking for Kate and found her reading Dave's magazine while sitting on the potty. It was so cute. It's funny the things they pick up on and Kate is such a daddy's girl that I guess sooner or later this was bound to happen!

moving update

I haven't posted about it because there is not much progress but I've had a lot of people ask about how our moving process is coming, so here is what's happening. We've had about 3 families come to see our house, so we are just waiting on the selling side and we can't buy until we sell, so we are waiting on the buying side too. The "great" news is that the houses we found that we liked have now been bought, so we are back to square one with that:) This is not at all good because our realtor that is helping us find a house is the oldest, slowest person I've ever met. We've nicknamed her "the turtle" because she was so slow at finding the houses it was funny. We made so many U-turns I thought I'd be sick! It took FOREVER to see the houses and now we have to do it all over again. Yea! I've never been more frustrated in my whole life than I am with this moving process. Oh well. What do you do. Hopefully I'll survive to tell the rest of the story - if it ever has an ending. LOL!

Time Flies

I can't believe how the time flies. Bryce is now 6 months old and he is growing up so much. He is talking (ma ma, goo, and screams) and loves to smile and laugh. He sleeps through the night and loves it when his sisters hold him and play with him. He is by far my best and happiest baby and he is so much fun. He brings so much joy into our lives and I'm glad this little guy is mine. Happy 6 months Bryce-ster:)

Fun at our house...

I love summer because I don't have to entertain my kids nearly as much as usual. They come up with fun things on their own like...

Playing in the packing boxes on the front lawn,

(This is classic Kate when she doesn't get her way:))
To cleaning ours and the neighbors mailboxes, (she came up with this on her own)

flying high with daddy,

and packing a lunch to feed the horsies (actually the horses never came so...)

...we ended up eating their carrots:)

County Fair

Today we went to the fair and had such a fun time...

picking "apples" off of "trees"...
eating blue raspberry snowies...jumping on jumpin' joey trampolines...

but only the princess castle for kate if you please...kira ventured out to the slides...
and hello kitty and minnie mouse were a big surprise!...
then we saw the cows, sheep and pigs...
so much fun for my little kids:)

Grasshoppers, Purple Bathtubs, and Other Surprises...

This is a cute article in the August Ensign about learning to relax and let it go when it comes to your kids. The part I loved said this:

"I've learned some of life's most valuable lessons from preschool children:
*to greet each day with enthusiasm and eagerness;
*to pursure adventure despite obstacles;
*to delight in new discoveries;
*to enjoy spontaneous fun;
*to regard the eating of toothpaste and the emptying of sand-filled shoes on the carpet as minor problems, not major catastrophes."
I can never have too many reminders that being a mom is a blessing and that my children, and what they teach me each day, are something to cherish. What a fun reminder:)
